Conveyor chains of various strength have a series of different chain pitches: the minimum chain pitch depends on the requirements of sprocket teeth for sufficient strength, while the maximum chain pitch is usually determined by the rigidity of chain plate and general chain. If necessary, the rated maximum chain pitch can be exceeded by strengthening the sleeve between chain plates, However, clearance to clear the sleeve must be retained in the teeth.
